Any of these delicious plants can be used to season meat or they can be snipped and soaked in olive oil to make a great dip for fresh bread. Another delicious use for herbs is in making herb vinegar or butter. Just let the herbs soak in white vinegar or mix them with butter in a food processor and you’ll have a great addition to any salad or meal. Most herb plants can be used fresh or dried.
Herbs have other uses in addition to their flavorful properties. Potted herbs make great houseplants and prefer a nice sunny spot to flourish. Whether it’s a singular herb, a combination planter or an attractive topiary, these plants add function, decor or fragrance to your indoor or outdoor space.
In order to cultivate your potted herbs and keep them happy and healthy for a long time, there are a few things you can do. Herbs will store for long periods of time if you dry them. Cut your herbs, wrap them into bunches with a string or rubber band, and just let them dry naturally. You can also dry them in a food dryer or seal them in an airtight jar to keep them looking and smelling fresh for a long time.
